About Me

As I write this, I’m 43 years old.  The main purpose of this blog is to share my life experiences in regards to financial IQ and my FIRE journey.  Everyone has different paths to retirement, but they all require the same thing.  Time and money.   Many work until they are 65 and even 70+ years old.  That is not what I have in mind.   Like most, retirement is not something you think about in your early 20’s and sometimes even in your 30’s.  For me, I started thinking differently about life, money, finances after reading “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” at the age of 26.  I had no money at the time, in fact, I was in debt like most everyone in the US.

I will discuss how I went from over $70K in debt in 2010 to over 1-million net-worth in 2017. No fancy lottery winnings, and no inheritance, etc.  My debt is almost eliminated and I only have debt by choice now.  This was done all through W2 income, more on that later.

The goal is to share my story and share knowledge even when I was young, dumb, and foolish with money.

Regards,

HF
